Ages 13–18; confidentiality is agreed in the first meeting.

One-to-one sessions with teenagers on school, friendships, communication at home, anxiety, screen use and self-esteem. Parents are seen separately.
Adolescence is a time when young people rebuild both their sense of self and their relationship with their family. In sessions the teenager's own agenda comes first; parents' worries are addressed in separate meetings.
In the first meeting the confidentiality rule is agreed with the teenager and the family: apart from situations that concern the safety of the young person or others, what is said in sessions is not shared with parents. This rule is the basis of the teenager's trust in therapy.
Teenager and parent together; confidentiality and expectations.
Weekly with the teenager.
